Gliese 581 g was discovered in September 2010. The planet is orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581 in the habitable zone, which is similar to Earth. Early predictions suggest however that the planet is not rotating so day and night would not occur. Instead the planet has a dark and light side, called tidal locking, the planet would have no axial tilt and therefore no seasonality changes either.
